Spring Institute 2018 Registration

Join your elementary school library colleagues on Thursday, May 24th from 8:30AM to 3:00PM at Masonic Hall NYC for a stimulating day of professional learning, networking, and a celebration of reading.

We are excited to announce NYC Reads 365 author and illustrator, Julia Sarcone-Roach will be our closing keynote speaker! Each attendee will receive one of her books and an opportunity to have her sign it after her presentation.

Jared Fox, NYC DOE LGBT Community Liaison will address issues effecting LGBTQ youth in our schools. A new feature this year will be Literary Speed Dating featuring titles from the NYC Reads 365 lists and the NYC Public Libraries Summer Reading program. Newsela will share resources that benefit schools and school libraries, Follett will introduce their new Book Fairs, and KidLit TV will provide an overview of their offerings.

Promote NYC Reads 365! Enter the NYC Reads 365 Centerpiece Competition by April 13th and be considered for a $1,000 gift certificate to Bound to Stay Bound courtesy of NYCSLS and Bound to Stay Bound!

Morning coffee and a boxed lunch will be provided. We hope you can join us! Space is limited to 150 attendees! 

This program is eligible for 5 hours of CTLE credit in Pedagogy.

The New York City Department of Education is recognized by the New York State Education Department's Office of Teaching Initiatives as an approved sponsor of CTLE for Professional Classroom Teachers, School Leaders and Level III Teaching Assistants.
